GT does not have to be downloaded to be used as a tool on Totally Literate's website? It opens automatically.
Steps to access GT
-
With your mouse simply select some text, perhaps a story or a fable.
-
Right click on your selection.
-
From the pop-up menu, click Translate Selected Text.

After executing Step 3, you'll be transported to the Google Translate Platform, shown below.
Note: on some devices, instead of Translate Selected Text, your choice might be Translate selected text into 'English'
Google Translate Platform

-
A click on the speaker icon on the box above on the left, you'll hear the story in English. And a click on the box above on the right, you'll hear the story in Czech.
-
By moving your mouse sentence-by-sentence in sync with the voice, the sentence will be highlighted in both languages. This greatly helps students understand the translated language.
-
If the Speaker Icon of the translated language is dimmed, it means that the document is inaudible. Nonetheless, the Translation may be copied then pasted on a Word document, for example.
-
If you highlight any English word, let's take "mien" for example, then synonyms, antonyms, etc. for this word will open up, as shown below.

GT can translate text into nearly 250 languages of which about 3/5 are audible.
Amazingly, GT can translate the entire Totally Literate website into any language. This is how it's done:
-
Click on Websites.
-
Type TotallyLiterate.og into the user box.
-
Choose the language you want to translate the website into by hitting the caret next to the 3 languages shown. (We've picked Irish for this example.)
-
Click the arrow within the blue circle.
Voila! We are on the Irish Homepage!
-
See illustrations below.

For the following example, we picked a fable, "The Sheep and the Pig," and translated it into Irish.

Please note the rectangular box that says Translate photo below.

If you put your cursor on the edge of the translation, the English text will appear. What's more, you can read aloud in English. To do so, merely double left-click on the first word, "One," then right click and choose Read aloud from here.

Lastly, if you click on the Translation button then on Original, the website will revert to English and Béarla next to the American Flag will change to English
