Adobe and Dictionary.com Integration

Whenever you're reading an Adobe PDF and want to quickly look up a word, Dictionary.com is the go-to resource for definitions. Here’s how to use this feature:

  • Listen to the Text

  • Wait for the Text-to-Speech (TTS) voice to read the word or passage out loud.

  • Double-left click on the word you want to define, then right-click it.

Dictionary.com is a valuable tool for expanding vocabulary, but it contains ads and other distractions—content decidedly unsuitable for youngsters. With a parent present to keep the focus on vocabulary, exposure to the less‑seemly corners of the web can be kept to a minimum.

 

If, however, your child’s current goal is solely learning to read, you can disable the definition‑lookup feature. Once you do, your concerns disappear, and your children can work safely on their own.
