Play Onwards (POW)
Vocabulary Workbook: Fill-in-the-Blanks
For Rank Beginning Readers!
Play Onwards Vol. 1 (224 pages), along with Play Onwards Vol. 2 (198 pages), covers virtually every monosyllabic word in the English language.
Each sentence, including the missing word (written in "invisible ink"), is heard when clicked on.
For each missing letter there is a corresponding blank space, making the exercises, with parental help, easy even for children just beginning to read.
Note: Number 13 on page 2 of the chart to the left calls for the progressive form of sass: i.e. sassing.
Click on any sentence, and its heard in whole, even the missing word written with "invisible ink."
With parental help, a young child barely able to print his or her name can make astounding gains in reading.
However, the exercises are best started after children have developed some reading skill using the various Drills and Exercises.
As children's vocabulary enlarges, the synapses of their brains expands commensurately. Hence, their mental acuity increases markedly.
